We are so pleased to announce that SMI will be back again in 2018! Here’s what you need to know.
WHAT: Two weeklong day camps
WHO: Lake & Geauga kids, entering 5th & 6th grade. (*Other kids may be accepted on a wait-list basis; email for info.) One week is just for girls, and the other week is for everyone.
WHERE: Auburn Career Center
WHEN: June 2018: 9 am to 3 pm – (9-12 on Fridays)
HOW MUCH: $150/week (includes lunch, scholarships available)
WHY: Field trips, take home projects made in the fab lab, and more!
The Summer Manufacturing Institute is a project of Auburn Career Center, OhioMeansJobs Geauga County, Senator Sherrod Brown, and AWT, with special thanks to LEAF for their support in 2016.

Week long Summer Day Camp with a manufacturing focus for 5th & 6th grade students to be held at Auburn Career Center’s Fab Lab.
Camp details include: Two exciting week long sessions in June with a cohort of 25 fifth/sixth grade campers per week. The make-up of the week will be financial literacy, marketing, manufacturing their project and advanced manufacturing site tours. Campers will also manufacture their own Mars Rover or prosthetic arm! On the 5th day parents, friends and loved ones will be invited to a showcase breakfast where campers will highlight their week.
