We are so pleased to announce that the Summer Manufacturing Institute will be in Ashtabula! Here’s what you need to know:

WHAT: The Summer Manufacturing Institute is a collection of three week-long day camps. Each camp the connects STEAM (STEAM, sometimes STEM, is Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design, and Math) to careers in Ashtabula County.

WHO: Ashtabula students, entering 5th & 6th grade. (*Other kids may be accepted on a wait-list basis; email for info.) One week is just for girls, and the other weeks are for everyone.

*WHY is one week girls only? Research shows that girls particularly at this age do tend to lose interest in STEM as they get older if there aren’t specific opportunities for them

WHERE: A-tech

WHEN: July 2019: 9 am to 3 pm – (9am-12pm on Fridays with a special presentation!)

HOW MUCH: $25/week (includes lunch)

***Financial assistance is available. Please e-mail Juliana@ThinkMFG.com for details***

WHY: Field trips, take-home projects made in the fab lab, and more!

Ashtabula SMI is operated by the Alliance for Working Together Foundation in partnership with A-Tech; Ashtabula County Commissioners; Ashtabula County Job and Family Services; Ohio Means Jobs Ashtabula; Growth Partnership of Ashtabula; Gazette Newspapers; local Ashtabula County businesses; and the office of Congressman David Joyce.
