We are so pleased to announce that plans are underway for the 2021 Lake & Geauga Summer Manufacturing Institute (SMI) Camps! Our Lake & Geauga SMI Steering Committee is working diligently to release the specific dates/times and certain health and safety procedures for 2021. We’ll keep you updated.
Until then, here’s what you need to know about Lake & Geauga SMI:
WHAT: The Summer Manufacturing Institute is a collection of three week-long day camps. Each camp connects Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) concepts to local careers throughout Lake and Geauga Counties. Campers complete hands-on, STEM projects to showcase to parents and local businesses.
WHO: 5th & 6th grade Lake County and Geauga County students
WHERE: Auburn Career Center (8140 Auburn Rd, Painesville, OH 44077)
WHEN: Three weeks in June 2021 from Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm and Fridays from 9am-12pm with a special celebration luncheon from 11am-12pm. Please note specfic dates will be released in the next coming months. Online registration for the camps will begin in late April 2021.
Cost: $150/week (includes lunch) and financial assistance is available

The Lake & Geauga Summer Manufacturing Institute (SMI) is operated by the Alliance for Working Together Foundation in partnership with Auburn Career Center, OhioMeansJobs Geauga County, Swagelok, iSTEM Geauga Early College High School, and various local Geauga County and Lake County businesses.
