Over 1,000 students explored STEM through AWT programming.

AUGUST DATES AND EVENTS
– AWT attended the Back-To-School-Bash for Lake County families on August 2nd.
– Apprenticeship begins Monday, August 4th.
– August WorkAdvance begins August 18th and runs one week for a more compact session.
– On August 27th, AWT will host the Lake County Council on Aging for a Senior Tech Experience.
Looking for new talent for your entry-level positions?
WorkAdvance is a one to two-week training that introduces the basic skills needed for an entry-level position in manufacturing.
Your company can conduct interviews during our interview session and meet new talent to bring into your organization. Candidates have not only received manufacturing instruction, but also financial and soft skills training.

AWT is pleased to host the ERC as they present a one-day training on September 10th.
This one-day Supervisory Boot Camp is an introduction to supervision, designed for those who’ve received little to no formal training. Throughout the day, participants will learn several critical skills, including how to make the transition from individual contributor to supervisor; how to recognize, understand, appreciate, and adjust to communication style differences; and how to positively manage and resolve conflict.

The Expo is on October 8th, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at North High School. The Think Manufacturing Student Career Expo will give teachers, guidance counselors, principals, and students the opportunity to learn more about the various rewarding career opportunities offered in manufacturing.

Seniors, learn how to use technology and bring your devices for practical assistance.
AWT is hosting the Lake County Council on Aging Senior Tech Experience at our Transformation Training Center. The session is designed to help older adults become more confident with technology and features educational sessions on key topics:
– Basic computers Introduction to smartphones
– No more cable: Intro to streaming services
– Ebooks & more: Using your library card to access free online content
There will be one-on-one tech assistance so bring your personal devices such as laptops, iPhones, iPads, and tablets.
Participation is limited to 50 attendees, aged 60 and over, and registration is required. Call the Lake County Council on Aging 440.205.8111 ext. 223.
