Lake & Geauga SMI Overview Information 

WHAT: The Summer Manufacturing Institute is a collection of two week-long day camps. Each camp connects Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) concepts to local careers throughout Lake and Geauga Counties. Campers complete hands-on STEM projects to showcase to parents and local businesses. 

WHO: 5th & 6th grade Lake County and Geauga County students

WHERE: AWT Transformation Training Center (8980 Tyler Blvd, Mentor, OH, 44060)

WHEN:  Two weeks in June 2024 from Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm and Fridays from 9am-12pm with a special celebration luncheon from 11am-12pm. 

Week 1: June 10th – 14th, 2024: RoboTech (co-ed)
Week 2: June 17th – 21st, 2024: Mad Scientist (Girl’s only)

Cost: The cost for camp is $200 per camper per week (includes lunch). Camp scholarships are available. Please e-mail SMI@thinkmfg.com for more information on scholarships.

The Lake & Geauga Summer Manufacturing Institute (SMI) is operated by the Alliance for Working Together Foundation in partnership with Auburn Career Center, OhioMeansJobs Geauga County, Swagelok, iSTEM Geauga Early College High School, and various local Geauga County and Lake County businesses.
