AWT, the Mentor Chamber of Commerce and the Lake County Ohio Port & Economic Development Authority are supporting the City of Mentor and Laketran in their efforts to investigate a transit route of some kind along Tyler Blvd.

This initiative has been many years coming, according to AWT Board members and Laketran GM Ben Capelle.  However, Capelle points out that we need more information to see what the route would look like.  Would it be a small, dial-a-ride bus that runs twice a day? Or would it look like a regular fixed route, running on the hour?

And, although there are plenty of places to work along Tyler, how many workers would rely on transit to get there?  Is it an ‘if you build it, they will come’ scenario? Would workers come from Cuyahoga County if they could connect from RTA?

The first step in the process is an employer survey, mailed out by Laketran and emailed by the community partners.  It may be followed by employee outreach.
