“Untapped talent” refers to individuals who possess valuable skills, abilities, and potential but are underrepresented in Ohio’s manufacturing workforce. Through Good Jobs Challenge, Ohio aims to identify, train, and place four specific untapped talent populations into manufacturing roles – and they will be the focus of the 2024 training series initiative. They are women, people of color, veterans, and justice-impacted individuals.
The purpose of the Untapped Talent Training Series initiative is to create a learning environment in which manufacturers, their HR and leadership teams, and their Industry Sector Partnership (ISP) liaisons can easily learn best practices, and obtain resources, for recruiting and retaining untapped talent to fill their manufacturing workforce needs.
